ABOUT ME

Nikita Kleist Møller Kristensen

I'm a 22 year old danish/greenlandic photography student in Edinburgh, Scotland. I went to a Steiner school close to Copenhagen. There is a more creative based approach to teaching and studying in Steiner schools, so I have always been priviliged with creativity and space for individualism. I'm in my second year of study and need two more before I will have my bachelor's degree in photography. I got my first DSLR camera when I was 15 years old. I used my mother's old canon analogue camera before that.

I didn't know what I wanted to be all through school, but in my final year I realised that I had loved photography as long as I could remember. I would always be the one with the camera at family parties and outings and I snapped away at anything. Faces, things, food, anything. I decided I was going to be a photographer and that's what I have been fighting for ever since. I took two years off before starting at university and worked full time in a health store during that time.

I try not to confine myself within limits or genres. I want to find myself as a photographer as I have found myself as a person. I want my place in the industry and I want to contribute to this wonderful world of art.
